This account will probably be a mix of fandom-ish things and the odd detour into whatever strikes my fancy. I doubt this blog will focus heavily on Real World Politics, but I have been known to renege on that pledge too often. I made this account right before the NSFW tumblr purge and left it dormant for *checks watch* two years.
Generally speaking, nothing on here will be high-effort posting, but I do want some place to store and share half-finished musings/conversations no one wanted to have.
I don't share my real name on the internets (it's a little too distinctive), but if you want to call me something other than my user name Zed will suffice quite nicely. I'm also Certified Weird About Gender, so feel free to call me by any pronouns, whether that is he, she, they, neopronouns, or a mix thereof.
This is a long and somewhat rambling post just to give people an idea of whether they want to read more of what I have to say/friend me.

General Info
Fandom Stuff
Been a trekkie since I was a kid. Have the embarrassing large collection of beta-canon novels to show for it. DS9 is my favorite, although they pretty much all hold a place in my heart.
I like superhero narratives a lot. I enjoy messing around with them and subverting them even more.
MCU Faves: Tony Stark, Nick Fury, Valkryie.
Identity Stuff: I know for a while it got really common for people to write a list of their marginalized/privileged identities out online, which has some advantages in breaking up the idea of every internet user as the Neutral White Male (or sometimes the Neutral White Woman), but I tend to enjoy that neutrality, as complicated as it all is.
I will disclaim that I am white though, because I have previously talked about race enough that it seems fair to add some info about where I'm coming from situationally.
Politics Stuff:
* In case there's a secret underground TERF community on dreamwidth, I am 100% in support of transgender women.
* My politics don't fit super neatly into a label, but I generally believe in 1) nuanced approaches to how weird and complicated human beings are 2) attempting to collapse as many hierarchies and authorities as possible 3) allowing other human beings dignity and individuality.
I also believe in approaching non-human animals as persons, not resources. I've been vegan for like a decade? which I'd consider to be a separate but related thing.
